Convector or Oil Radiator: Choose by Runtime

Long sessions favour oil; short bursts favour convection.

Oil radiators store heat in the oil and keep radiating for close to an hour after switch-off — at the cost of slow warm-up, with little felt in the first twenty minutes. Convectors heat fast and stay light, but cool down immediately.

So the question is not which is better, but how long you run it. All night, or someone home during the day: oil is more comfortable and cheaper to run. Two hours after work: a convector fits better.

Bathrooms are the exception — check the IP rating. IPX4 is the minimum; IPX2 belongs outside the door.
